Starting the New Year Right!
My first post of 2020!
A totally blank canvas {or blog page}! So many ideas! So many possibilities!
So much pressure....
We will start this month out easy by doing one of my *new favorite* posts: my monthly list. I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but I am quite disappointed in Past Kaitlin.
My Current Book
In case you have not gotten on this bandwagon, the fifth season of Outlander premieres on February 16. #droughtlanderendsin38days
The books are amazing...and amazingly long, which is why I always strive to have the book the season is based on finished before the season starts. I am about 1/5 of the way through The Fiery Cross {still have 1,110 pages to go}, but my goal is to have it finished by the end of January. Fingers crossed.
My Current Show
I don't know that I have one as of today, but the adaptation of Sanditon premieres on PBS on Sunday. I'm pretty excited to see what they do with an unfinished novel. I also had several shows recommended to me over break, so once I get around to watching them, I will report back!
My Current Podcast
I'm finally back to listening to the first podcast I really got into. I started listening to Disney Travel Secrets back in January of 2018, before our big Disney World trip. I love it for a number of reasons: the quick Disney fix I can get every week, Kerri's wealth of information and tips, and Rob's humor {98% of the time}. They really know their stuff, and every time I end an episode, I am ready to try out their tips. Guess that means I need to plan a trip to Disney World...
My Current Scents
Just to add something new to the list! I'm currently burning a beyond-yummy Christmas candle from the Door County Candle Company called Door County Christmas. This is definitely an emotion-filled scent. I can remember being very young and going to the original Door County Candle on family vacations, and we always picked up one of the Christmas candles.
In my Scentsy, I have a soy-based melt from an Etsy shop called Bubble & Geek. They make fun geeky scents...this one is called "Watcher on the Walls." The website is super dangerous because things just magically appear in my cart. So weird.
My Current Tea
I received this tea as part of my door prize at the JASNA Birthday Tea event I attended in December {apparently, of my group, my birthday is the closest to Jane's dear sister, Cassandra's!}. A fun fact about Twinings: their logo is the oldest in the world that has been in continuous use {it debuted in 1706}. I would love to visit the tea shop in London {it is the oldest tea shop in London, too, by the way}. This Winter Spice tea is just plain yummy!
My Current Coffee
For the sake of accuracy, I have to put two things down. The bag I have open right now, which I will probably finish up in the next couple of days, is from the Bones Coffee Company. I know, I'm branching out, but really I just bought it because of the label. It is super good, though, so give it a try if you like chocolate flavor in your coffee.
The bag I am going to open as soon as that one is finished is my absolute favorite coffee in the world. No questions. Highlander Grogg is delicious. I get a bag {or two} every year for Christmas or my birthday because my family loves me.
You may notice that I am leaving snacks off the list this time. I'm trying {like everyone else, I'm sure} to eat healthier right now, which means less snacking. Of course, I think January is the worst time to start eating healthy because there is so much residual Christmas food lying around. Ugh.
I hope your January has gotten off to a wonderful start! If you'd like to add to my list of shows or books or coffees to try, please comment! And I love a good tea recommendation as well, so please share the love.
