Marching through another list...
We are just digging into the third month of the year. Spring is coming! More importantly, spring break is coming. Not soon enough, but it's on its way.
I feel like I survived February. I also feel like I said the same thing about January, so what does that say about 2020 for Kaitlin? Ugh...
But it was honestly busy in a good way. Lots of time with friends, lots of crafting, not a lot of reading...when I get to that section of the list, you'll see what I mean. I spent three days of this weekend at the iSchool Welcome Weekend down at the ol' U of I and finally got to meet some of my professors and classmates in person, which was great. It kind of refreshed my grad program for me, gave it some solid, tangible ground on which to plant my feet.
I think I will use March as a way to refresh myself in the other areas of my life: work, home, friendships. So without further ado, let's take a look at the items that will be helping me get there...
My Current Books
Yes, I am still reading The Fiery Cross. Yes, I am still in the 800s. No, I will not be taking any questions.
I also just started reading this book, Don't Overthink It. At the end of the introduction, there was a list of questions, and at the bottom, it basically said, "If you answered yes to some of these, you are probably an overthinker." No kidding. But seriously, Anne Bogel is a great writer. I love her blog, Modern Mrs. Darcy. Her book recommendations are fantastic. Check her out, if you so choose.
My Current Show
The only show I really and truly look forward to every week, at least right now, is The Masked Singer. I have no idea who anyone in Group B is right now, though I have a couple guesses. I'm pretty confident about 2/3 of Group A, and Group C hasn't started yet, so that's something to look forward to.
AND THE SECOND HALF OF THE LAST SEASON OF SUPERNATURAL STARTS THIS MONTH AND NO, I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING. SHUT UP.
Also, apparently Westworld starts up again this month. I really didn't understand the second season, so I may be giving this one a pass. We shall see if Dolores and the hosts suck me back in.
My Current Podcast
I'm back to the great, the fabulous Binge Mode. This month, my goal is to get through Goblet of Fire and beyond, if possible. I also have every intention of listening to Jason and Mal's Star Wars Binge Mode as well, because of course I'm going to! I cannot wait to see if they agree with my belief that Anakin is waaaaaayyy whinier than Kylo Ren.
My Current Scent
Oh, Bath and Body Works! Thank you so much for your amazing aromatherapy candles. My favorites, by far, are Focus and Stress Relief (don't know why I might need either of those...) And right now, I'm burning the Stress Relief. I love the combination of eucalyptus and spearmint. It's very subtle but very calming.
My Current Tea
In honor of the return (and eminent ending... *sniff*) of Supernatural, I am currently enjoying some Supernatural fandom blends. These come to me from Adagio Teas, and I absolutely love them! The "Dean" blend is Earl Grey Bravo, Tiger Eye, and Apple Pieces (love the attention to detail here!). The "Sam" blend is Irish Breakfast, Blood Orange (thankfully, not demon blood orange), and hazelnut. And "The Impala" is a blend of Tiger Eye, Gunpowder (tea, not like actual gunpowder...), chestnut, and cloves. Yummy! As yummy as the Winchesters are to look at...
My Current Coffee
I'm going through some small bags of coffee, so there will likely be more than one flavor this month. Right now, though, I just finished up Mocha Mint and am about to start enjoying Frosted Cinnamon Buns. And yes, they are as delicious as they sound!
They say March comes in like a lion, and for me, this first week has been exceptionally busy. I'm ready for the "lamb" portion of the month. Only thirteen more school days until Spring Break...only thirteen more school days until Spring Break...
I can do this. You can do this. We can do this together.
Let me know what you're excited about this month! I've got a giveaway planned for maybe next week? Maybe this week? I don't know what I'm giving away yet, but maybe I'll do it as a combination. Comment or like this week's and/or next week's post to be entered to win...something. It'll be great, I'm sure. Yeah, definitely great.
